Anthropic 3x’d in 3 months

Anthropic's valuation soared to $900 billion in just three months. This rapid growth underscores the fierce competition for AI dominance across all sectors.

Capital found every layer. Anthropic’s $30B round agreed terms at a pre-money valuation near $900 billion, up from $380 billion in February. Annualized revenue hit $14 billion, with $2.5 billion from Claude Code alone, and business subscriptions have quadrupled since January. The foundry layer is selling too: Applied Materials’ Q3 forecast came in at $8.95 billion versus an $8.09 billion consensus, with packaging revenue projected to grow more than 50% in 2026. Every layer of the stack is funded at once.

Access to compute is being reshuffled at the top. The H200 clearance for China covers roughly 10 firms including Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance—each capped at 75,000 units under an arrangement that routes 25% of revenue back to the US. The legacy IT layer is pivoting fast: Cisco’s $5.3B AI orders year-to-date helped lift fiscal-year guidance from $5 billion to $9 billion, while the company cuts nearly 4,000 jobs to fund the shift. Enterprise IT incumbents picked a side.

And the agents are moving down-market. Claude for Small Business connects QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, and Google Workspace into workflows like payroll planning and invoice chasing at no cost beyond existing licenses, paired with a 10-city training tour aimed at 15- to 50-person operators. At the consumer edge, Amazon’s Alexa for Shopping replaced Rufus, rolled out free to all US shoppers within a week, and added a Buy for Me feature that completes purchases on third-party sites. The agent layer just stopped being an enterprise-only story.
